My Approach

My approach is psychodynamic, which simply means we look beneath the surface of what you are experiencing. Grief rarely shows up as just standard sadness or worry; it often brings up complex, hidden feelings, past losses, or a sense of being disconnected from yourself.

In our sessions, we won't just look at the day-to-day symptoms but at the unique meaning behind them, helping you make sense of your internal world in a safe, confidential space.

Because therapy should fit your life rather than add to your stress, I offer two distinct ways for us to work together:

  • Weekly Video Sessions: Traditional, face-to-face, online therapy where we meet at the same time each week to talk through things in depth.

  • Flexible Text-Based Therapy: A dedicated, text-based option designed for those who prefer the space to write things down as they come up, or whose schedules make weekly video appointments difficult.

How We Work Together

To give our work momentum and a clear sense of safety, I typically work within an initial 12-session programme. For many people, 12 sessions provide enough time and structure to process acute difficulties, find stability, and begin to move forward.

However, healing isn't linear, and everyone's pacing is different. If we reach the end of our initial programme and feel there is more ground to uncover, we always have the flexible option to extend our work for a further 6 or 12 sessions. We will regularly review how you are doing, ensuring the therapy remains entirely on your terms.

The first step is often the hardest. Book a no-obligation, 15-minute chat to discuss what brings you to therapy and how I can can help.
